The Beurer EM49 features three core functionalities:

- Electrical nerve stimulation (TENS)
- Electrical muscle stimulation (EMS)
- Massage effect achieved through electrical impulses

This device improves general well-being, alleviates pain, maintains fitness, promotes relaxation, rehabilitates muscles, and helps prevent fatigue. The effects of electrical stimulation devices rely on generating and transmitting impulses through electrodes to nerve and muscle fibres via the skin.

TENS signifies electrical stimulation of the nerves through the skin. TENS is a clinically proven, effective, and side-effect-free method approved for pain management.

The EMS method (muscle stimulation) is used, among other things, to complement traditional muscle training to enhance muscle group performance and body shaping.

The massage technique offers a program that mimics the sensations and effects of real massage.

With this digital EMS/TENS device, two separately adjustable channels allow you to set the intensity of impulses independently for two different body areas. For example, you can stimulate both sides of the body or focus evenly on large tissue areas. Since the channel currents can be set individually, you can treat two different body parts simultaneously, saving time compared to sequential individual treatments.
