The Beurer PO 45 pulse oximeter allows you to easily measure arterial blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), heart rate (PRbpm), and perfusion index (PI). Oxygen saturation indicates the percentage of hemoglobin in arterial blood that is saturated with oxygen, a crucial parameter for assessing respiratory function. As oxygen flows through the lungs, hemoglobin binds oxygen to red blood cells. Oxygen saturation frequently decreases due to various health conditions (e.g., respiratory diseases, asthma, heart failure). Individuals with low oxygen saturation often experience symptoms such as shortness of breath, increased heart rate, decreased performance, nervousness, and sweating. Chronic, identified low oxygen saturation should be monitored using a pulse oximeter under medical guidance.
