In an induction hob with an integrated hood the extractor is built into the middle of the hob, so steam and cooking smells are drawn downwards at the point where they arise. The solution frees the space above and suits an island or an open-plan kitchen, where a separate hood would block the view. Before ordering, check whether the air is ducted out through a flue or recirculated back into the room through a carbon filter.
