How much space does a top-loading washing machine require in width?

Top-loading washing machines almost always have a standard width of 40 cm. This is significantly less than the 60 cm width of front-loading machines. The depth is typically about 60 cm. However, remember to leave enough space (approx. 50–60 cm) above the machine so that the lid can open completely.

Is the spin result of a top-loading washing machine as good as a front-loading one?

Yes, it is. Modern top-loading washing machines spin just as efficiently as traditional models. The most common spin speeds are 1200–1400 revolutions per minute (RPM), which leaves the laundry dry enough for quick line or tumble drying.

Can a tumble dryer be installed on top of a top-loading washing machine?

No, it cannot. Because the loading door and control panel of the washing machine are located on top of the appliance, a tumble dryer cannot be placed on top of it. If space is tight and you also need a drying feature, you should consider either a washer dryer or a separate tumble dryer placed next to the washing machine.

What does a Soft Opening door mean?

Soft Opening is a feature that increases user comfort and safety. Thanks to it, the drum doors do not "slam" open onto your fingers, but open slowly and controlledly at the push of a button. This makes loading and unloading the machine more pleasant.

Does a top-loading washing machine have transit wheels?

Most top-loading models have fold-out transit wheels or a so-called "cleaning wheel". This is a lever at the bottom front of the machine that allows the machine to rest on the rollers. This makes it much easier to clean the bathroom floor under the machine or move the machine in a tight space.

Does the washing drum always stop with the door facing up?

Many higher-quality models have an automatic drum stop (e.g., Drum Up or Posistop). This means that when the wash program ends, the machine automatically turns the drum to the correct position, so the door is immediately facing up ready to be opened, without you having to spin the drum manually.

Is a 6 kg or 7 kg load capacity enough for a family with children?

Yes, it is enough for most normal families. Because a top-loading machine is narrow, the drum is slightly deeper. With a 7 kg capacity, you can already wash a large amount of sheets or towels at once. The most important thing is not to fill the machine to the very brim, so that the wash result remains good.

How is a top-loading washing machine cleaned?

Like all washing machines, a top-loading model requires regular cleaning. The detergent dispenser is usually located in the lid and can be removed for washing. The lint filter is located in the lower part of the machine (behind the front panel or inside the drum at the bottom, depending on the model). We recommend running a cleaning wash (90°C) about once a month.
