The Wilson Classic is a perfect fit for modern aesthetics, rooted in the finest acoustic designs from the 1960s and 1970s. This is not just a nod to nostalgia; it represents a return to proven fundamentals featuring a robust, cuboid cabinet, sensitive large elements, and a traditional crossover solution.

The Wilson Classic is a large floorstanding speaker embodying a classic three-way design in an expansive enclosure. This model's wider cabinet enhances the sensitivity of mid and high frequencies, delivering exceptional audio balance.

The 1-inch textile dome tweeter is mounted on a sizeable front panel emblazoned with the Wilson logo; a stylized brass letter "W". The mid-range driver features a 5.5-inch (130 mm) Kevlar cone with a pressure-cast rigid frame, and resonance-free aluminum housing. Low frequencies are delivered by a modern large 8-inch (200 mm) aluminum framed driver with a Kevlar cone.

Two bass reflex ports are strategically positioned on the rear panel, with diameter and depth carefully selected for optimal performance. To achieve the best sound, place the speakers at least 50 cm away from the wall. The rear panel also houses two pairs of gold-plated screw terminals with convenient, large nuts. Thanks to the dual terminals, bi-wiring or bi-amping is possible if desired.

The cabinet is constructed from thick MDF and finished with a high-quality vinyl veneer showcasing an attractive wood grain. Available in two colours: traditional black (black ash) resembling black oak, and a unique Tobacco finish mimicking the noble brown and golden hues of dried tobacco leaves. A refined brass-tone nameplate featuring the Wilson logo, centrally positioned on the rear panel, adds a retro touch to the overall design. The entire front is covered by a black, acoustically neutral, magnetically attached grille featuring a pleasing, soft fabric.

The Wilson Classic pays homage to the history of speaker design while utilising significantly superior materials and techniques. Bass is deep and well-defined, midrange is clear and open, and there’s ample dynamics to bring any music genre to life. The cabinet is larger than modern bookshelf speakers, thereby enhancing bass response naturally. The Wilson Classic is particularly noteworthy if you seek outstanding, timeless performance regardless of your preferred music genre.

We have designed a dedicated Classic Stand for the Wilson Classic, robustly built from MDF, yet evocative of irresistible industrial metal stands from past decades. These complementary components not only enhance the audiophile style but also position the speakers so that listeners seated in front can fully experience the sound quality at its finest. The separately sold Classic Stand features a textured finish resembling hammered lacquer, giving it a metallic impression.
