The Wilson Classic perfectly complements modern trends, based on the finest acoustic designs from the 1960s and 1970s. It's not just about fashion and nostalgia; it's a return to a proven sound experience, featuring a square, wide-cabinet structure designed for optimal volume, along with sensitive, large drivers and a traditional crossover solution.

The Wilson Classic is a large floor-standing speaker representing a classic 3-way setup in a spacious cabinet. In this model, the increased cabinet width enhances sensitivity for mid and high frequencies, allowing for excellent sonic balance.

A 1-inch textile dome tweeter is mounted on a large, bespoke front baffle, featuring the Wilson logo; a stylized brass letter "W". The midrange driver is a 5.5-inch (130 mm) model equipped with a Kevlar diaphragm and a die-cast aluminum chassis that is free from resonances. For deep bass, a large 8-inch (200 mm) aluminum-frame unit with Kevlar cone is employed, designed to modern standards.

At the rear of the cabinet, two bass reflex ports have been precisely selected for diameter and depth. To maximize performance, position the speakers in the room so that there is at least a 50 cm distance between the speaker cabinet and the wall. The rear panel also features two pairs of gold-plated binding posts with convenient, oversized nuts. Due to the dual binding posts, bi-wiring or bi-amplification of the speaker is possible.

The cabinet is constructed from thick MDF and finished with a high-quality vinyl wrap that boasts an exquisite wood veneer pattern. Two colour options are available: traditional black (black ash) with a black oak wood effect, and the uniquely characterised Tobacco, perfectly mimicking the noble brown and golden tones of dried tobacco leaves. An additional detail is the exquisite brass-coloured nameplate in the center of the back panel displaying the Wilson logo, adding a retro touch to the design. The speaker's entire front is covered by a black, acoustically neutral, magnetically mounted grille, featuring a soft fabric that feels appealing.

The Wilson Classic pays homage to the history of speaker design while leveraging significantly improved materials and technologies. The bass is deep and well-defined, the midrange is open and clear, and it boasts plenty of dynamics to enrich any genre. The cabinet is larger than those found in modern bookshelf speakers, effectively enhancing bass reproduction in a natural way. The separately sold Classic Stand features a finish that resembles hammer painting, giving it a sleek appearance.
